The Rauch Foundation commissioned two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Walt Handelsman to illuminate public understanding of Long Island issues through his legendary artistry. He knows Long Island well from his 12 years at Newsday, where he won one of those Pulitzer Prizes, but these cartoons are based on research by the Long Island Index and reflect his unique take on the results.
